Welcome to Houghtons Bush Camp. Set on a beautiful three-acre site, you can find us in the coastal community of Muriwai Beach. We’re only 50 minutes drive from downtown Auckland, and our campgrounds are surrounded by stunning native forest. Whatever your group’s requirements, we offer affordable accommodation and a wide range of outdoor activities.
We’re centrally-located for all your accommodation needs
When you stay with us, your group has exclusive and full use of our entire site for the duration of your stay - we can cater for groups of up to 86 people. If you already live in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland, and you’re looking for a genuine outdoor experience close to home, we’ve got you covered. Because we’re only 15 minutes from Kumeu, living locally makes it easier to source close-by specialists and helpers to support the outdoor programmes you and your group want to take part in while you’re with us. Alternatively, if you’re visiting Auckland, why not stay at camp? Our facilities provide a handy, economical base from which to explore the city’s attractions.

Activities Anyone?
We offer lots of fun team building activities, including everything from orienteering courses to paintball, horse treks and an adventure playground. Depending on your requirements, you can prepare your own meals in our commercial-style kitchen, as well as make full use of the onsite activities we offer. Alternatively, you can hire caterers and utilise adventure operators to oversee your activities.

We had a fantastic time at Houghton's Bush Camp. The facilities were excellent and the layout of the camp made both parents and our first time campers feel very secure (horseshoe). The bush walk was well worth it - great views and the children loved climbing around the rocks to get up there after visiting the gannets. Our 'Camp Fire' was made from torches due to the fire ban but the set up for this is lovely and cosy - the wooden logs to sit on make it all very authentic.
